Norman Rockwell's art holds a special place in my heart, American culture and Art History, celebrated for his whimsical but warm and humorous depictions of American people and their everyday life. He instills in his work an optimism about the American present and future, that today is so often missing and more often ridiculed by modern art critics and the like. Not being a modern art fan myself, I prefer the photorealism, Americana aesthetic, the positive themes and classical, technical mastery of his body of work.
